All rules are subject to alteration/change at the discretion of the mods. In the event we do feel a change is in order, we will make a post to the community alerting all members of that fact. It is your responsibility, however, to know what the rules are and to follow them. There are a fair few yes but they're mostly common sense stuff.
01. We ask that all players be at least 16 years of age or older due to the potentially darker themes that may arise in this game. If we find out you lied about your age (and we will find out, it's our job!), you will be banned immediately. No exceptions.
02. In order to keep the game active, we ask that all players update with each of their characters at least once every two weeks, if not more. Activity checks occur mostly unannounced.
03. Regarding character limits. There is a character cap of 5 characters per player. This may rise depending on the size of the game.
04. Gods, deities, and god-like beings require mod approval prior to application. These characters are exceptionally powerful, and must be approved. It is strongly encouraged that these characters have a limited time frame in the game, as they can be very difficult to control for a long time. Approval is at the discretion of the mods.
All major villain applications must be accompanied with a note as to the intended purpose and time frame for the character, be it a few weeks to a few months.
05. We only allow each player to have 2 CHARACTERS PER FANDOM. We do evoke the right to make case by case exceptions for plot purposes.
06. Only characters in movies and shows that have been out for one month or longer will be eligible for play or hold. This also applies to information revealed in canon; please try to wait one month before introducing new information from canon.
07. We do not allow Original Characters.
08. We only allow a character to be placed on hold for ONE WEEK. After the week is up the character will go back up for grabs. Players may make up to two holds at once. However, if for some reason you find yourself truly unable to put together an application during that one week, if you contact us we will try to work with you. It is NOT required for you to place a character on hold before applying for them.
09. Anyone who drops a character must wait ONE MONTH before re-applying for that same character. In addition, should any drop be made by a player, that player must wait ONE WEEK in order to hold and/or apply for another character provided that character isn't the one they've just dropped. The exception to this rule is mod approved character deaths.
10. No incest. There is only one exception to this rule. If the characters are involved in an incestous, romantic relationship in canon (and no, no Sam and Dean are not!), then yes. It is allowed. However, it must be supported by canon fact, not conjecture. (Think VC Andrews' Flowers in the Attic for a prime example.) Otherwise, this is a big no-no and could result in expulsion from the game.
We do allow slash. However, only if your character is homosexual (or bisexual/bicurious) in canon. As fun as the pairings may be, Dean/Castiel, Sam/Uriel, etc. is not allowed as there is no canon evidence to support either ship.
11. Stay true to the nature of your character. Do not make them so out of their nature that they become someone else entirely. While this is a multi-verse RPG and you are open to crossover romances/friends/etc., try not do anything that would contradict who your character is and their morals. If we think you are, we'll let you know. If it continues to happen, you run the risk of being asked to give up that character. We are all here to have fun and seeing someone canon-rape a character is the exact opposite of that definition.
12 (a). If you pull a character from a specific point in canon from their fandom, they must be the same character as they were from that point in their fandom. This means they must be the same age, height, gender, species, etc. as they were in their own reality. If you want your character older, they must come from some point beyond that part of their canon. If you want them younger, they must come from some point before that part of their canon. And while we realize some books-turned-movies might age a character for plot purposes and whatnot, in order to play the age of the character in the movie, you must use the movie as their basis of canon, not the book from which they originated.
If you have any questions regarding this rule, please do not hesitate to ask and we'll do our best to explain it further.
12 (b). If you wish to temporarily age or de-age your character for a small, limited-time plot, that's fine. However, anything lasting longer than a few days must be cleared by mods. Any change that is permanent, or semi-permanent (lasting more than one month), including moving the character's place in canon (a change in seasons, books, comic book arcs, etc), will require dropping the character and resubmitting an application for the character after the one-month rule, with a new history to support the change in age or place in canon.
Note: If you choose to drop the character and reapply at a new age/canon point, the character will not be held for you during the one-month interval and will be open for others to pick up that character.
13. Absolutely no god-modding.
14. No drama. OOC /=/ IC.
15. Please avoid excessive one lined posts when replying to logs and narratives. We also ask that you use a cut-tag with every log or narrative, in order to keep the friends' lists somewhat orderly. If you do not know how to make a cut-tag, simply ask and we'll do our best to explain.
16. No internet/l33t-speak when making posts in character. No 'ALL CAPS' either, unless the character is yelling, and even then we ask you do so sparingly.
17. Although we realize that, with writing, tense-changes can and will happen and words will be spelled incorrectly and/or forgotten altogether in posts, we STRONGLY suggest you proof read each and every post you make before actually submitting it.
If we feel that your writing has declined significantly since your application, we will speak with you about it and offer a warning. If it continues to happen, you will most likely be removed from the game. We don't expect anyone to be perfect, but we do expect them to take pride in their writing and at least make sure each reply is legible.
18. Each character you play must have their own InsaneJournal account. While we do not require journals only be played at our game, we do ask you use a friends filter if you play them elsewhere to avoid confusion.
Please note, however, that each character journal must have some basic information in the userinfo section. This includes (but is not limited to):
Character Name Character Fandom Character Background (or link to background information) Disclaimer
19. Okay. Pregnancies/miscarriages/abortions/all that other fun couple-y type stuff. Yes, it does happen. It can happen. However, we do ask that you keep it realistic. If your characters are having unprotected sex they run a significantly higher risk of pregnancy than those who are practicing safe sex.
If they do become pregnant, they cannot carry to full term and deliver in a week. In fact, we ask that you keep them pregnant for at least 5-6 months, but with a minimum of a FOUR full months before they deliver.
If we feel you are using miscarriages or abortions as a form of birth control, you will be warned once to stop. After that, it is a bannable offense.
20. No cliques. While it is understandable that certain characters will want to interact more with some than others, if we feel that players are grouping together and ignoring all other players, we will say something. Nobody wants to feel left out. The point of the game is for interaction amongst all different walks of life in a fandom setting. The same goes for the OOC setting as well. No cliques. None. At all. Bad. Cliques BAD!
21. HAVE FUN!!!
